Product Update - September 2026

September's platform updates including a redesigned account home page, a new Square integration and minimum tronc payments per group.

September 2026

Here's what's new, improved, and fixed on the Grateful platform this month.

New Features

💳 Square Integration - You can now connect your Square account to Grateful straight from the integration settings. Once connected, it stays connected without you needing to re-authorise it.

🔌 Kobas Integration Settings - Kobas now sits in the integration settings alongside the other providers, so you can set it up and update it yourself.

🤝 Monotree Integration - Grateful now connects with Monotree, the workplace communication and recognition platform.

💷 Minimum Tronc Payment per Group - You can now set a minimum payout for each tronc group. When tronc is distributed, no group falls below its agreed floor.

🏷️ Agency Staff Details - Employee profiles now hold the agency name and reference for anyone placed through a recruitment agency. It comes through automatically from connected HR systems and can be edited on the profile.

Improvements

🏠 New Account Home Page - The home page your team sees has been redesigned with an earnings chart, a breakdown of their balance and a personal greeting, so they can see where they stand at a glance.

🧭 Refreshed Navigation - The dashboard sidebar is cleaner, can collapse to a slim icon bar for more screen space, and remembers each person's pinned items. The mobile menu has been rebuilt too, and admin-only menu items are now clearly marked.

👥 Richer Employee Data from Your Integrations - More employee details now come through automatically: payroll details from Rota King, start and leaving dates from Harri, and date of birth from Wenodo, Kobas, Fourth and Bizimply.

🗓️ Workforce Absence Pay Type - You can now choose which pay type is used when absences are imported from Workforce, rather than relying on a fixed default.

🔑 Deputy Across Multiple Sites - Multi-site Deputy setups can now share the head office connection across every site, so there's no need to connect each location separately.

⏱️ Sona Shift Type Setting - You can now choose where shift types come from when importing timesheets from Sona.

📊 Funding Group in Tronc Exports - The tronc summary full details CSV now includes a funding group column, making it easier to see which group funded each allocation.

📍 Planday Imports by Site - Planday payroll imports now only bring in records for the site they're set up for.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Tronc rules imports now handle files with special characters and match locations even when names vary slightly.

  • Guestline imports now map tip types reliably, including on newly set up sites.

  • Square shift times now show in the right timezone in tronc summaries.

  • Kobas gratuity imports now include the last day of each period.

  • The length-of-service preview in settings now reflects the department and role filters set on each tier.
